Career Achievements

Born and raised in the Bronx, NY and Westchester County Steve participated in sports winning medals in Track and Field. He was also involved in scouting where he earned the rank of Eagle Scout.

After graduating from Lakeland HS in Lake Mohegan, NY he attended SUNY New Paltz earning a Bachelor’s Degree and two Master’s Degrees. Steve furthered his studies at Boston University, University of Nairobi and Syracuse University.

Steve spent thirty-four years teaching Social Studies in the East Ramapo Central School District in Spring Valley, NY. The last fifteen years as Department Chairperson at Ramapo HS. He spent an additional five-plus years teaching in other public and private schools as well as being an Adjunct Instructor for Syracuse University.

Steve was a track coach for a time and was Foreign Exchange Coordinator for the school district traveling extensively with students and family. Many former students keep in touch with Steve on a regular basis.

Known as a motivator, Steve wrote curriculum for New York State as well as for the Regents Exam. Steve was honored for his efforts by being selected as the 1995-1996 NEW YORK STATE COUNCIL FOR THE SOCIAL STUDIES DISTINGUISHED SOCIAL STUDIES EDUCATOR.

Steve is an active participant in education conferences and programs. He has also worked extensively with student teachers.

Steve has been an officer and board member for numerous organizations including: The Historical Society of Rockland, The Rockland Council for the Social Studies, The NYS Council for the Social Studies, KIWANIS OF SPRING VALLEY, NY, and Mended Hearts of The Lower Hudson Valley and Atlantis Florida.

Working with HS All-Starz is a personal and professional pleasure as he uses his background in education to make a positive impact in the lives of students across America.
